MRPC is very fortunate to have:
 
  • Delegates and alternate-delegates representing 23 local jurisdictions, that have served for many years in one or more local capacities, such as members of Planning Boards, Boards of Selectmen, and/or other posts; and,
  • A new group of fresh faces from around the region that are now serving as Commissioners.
Those with many years under their respective belts want to help our new representatives. Our new colleagues have shown the willingness to participate in regional matters and also learn more about what resources and services might be available to their respective cities and towns.
 
As we enter a new fiscal year, and In an effort to assist all Commissioners, I’ll be holding several short, sweet, and simple meetings to provide the following for all of those interested in participating:
 
  • Background concerning the Commonwealth’s Regional planning Law (GL of MA, c. 40B, sections 1-8);
  • MRPC’s history (past and present services); and,
  • MRPC’s relationship with its affiliate, the Montachusett Enterprise Center, Inc. (MEC).
The same information will be discussed at the three, upcoming sessions. Over two days, next Monday and Tuesday, three meeting-blocks are being offered to provide potential attendees with multiple opportunities to, hopefully, be able to attend one of the meetings. There is no need to attend all, three sessions; however, any and all invitees are very welcome to do so. (If you cannot make any one of these meetings, I would be happy to provide another block of meetings in the future; after the monthly meeting of the Commissioners to be held on August 6th at 7:00 p.m.).
 
Please allow an hour for the session that you attend. I will block-off sufficient time (up to two hours) with the MRPC’s GoToMeeting app to allow additional time for people to go into depth on some matters, if they wish to do so.

The online-only meetings will be held, as follows:
 
Monday, August 3rd, 10:00 a.m. through Noon;
Tuesday, August 4th, 2:00 p.m. through 4:00 p.m.; and,
Tuesday, August 4th, 7:00 p.m. through 9:00 p.m.
