The Montachusett Energy Advisory Committee was formed in 2010 initially to provide oversight and guidance to the development of a Plan for the region regarding Emergency Back Up Power Sources Mitigation. This plan was in response to the devastating Ice Storm of 2008. The Committee is comprised of elected officials, municipal staff, utility providers, business owners and interested citizens. The above mentioned plan, the Montachusett Region Energy Plan, and The Siting of Renewable Energy Facilities Plan were funded by the U.S. Economic Development Administration. The Committee meets on an as needed basis and also holds a variety of workshops on energy ranging from Virtual Net Metering to Wind Energy Siting. To confirm meetings and upcoming workshops of the Energy Advisory Committee, please check the calendar on this website.
